MON STATE – According to people close to the military council, 30,000 detonators were seized from a vehicle on the road bypassing Mayan Chuang checkpoint, near Sotpanu Village in Kyaikhto Township on September 19 at 9:00 a.m.
The military council army and the police inspected a white Toyota Dyna type vehicle that was parked on the road and made the arrest.
A person close to the military council said, “The car was driving from Muppalin to Kyaikhto. The junta forces inspected that vehicle, finding it suspicious. Only the assistant and the guide were captured. The driver ran away.”
When the vehicle was inspected, it was found that there were 30,000 detonators which are usually used in making explosives, wrapped in a clear plastic bag inside a white plastic bag, with a current value of about 3,000 lakhs kyats.
Regarding the arrest, assistant A nge lay (25 years old) and the guide Mr. Pha Pina (aka) Mr. Saw Thein Hla (55 years old) were arrested and detained with the captured materials in Theinzayat Police Station.
