KACHIN STATE – The terrorist junta soldiers fired artillery against the villages in Mohnyin Township, leading to the deaths of four civilians, including a child, while six others were injured, according to an official of the Mohnyin Township Kachin People’s Defence Force (KPDF).
At 9:30 a.m. on Monday (January 29), junta artillery battalion #367 reportedly shot heavy weapons at Nyaung Pin Tha Village and the shell exploded at the entrance of the village, killing 59-year-old Nantsawlaw villager Mr. Htun Shwe and injuring one other.
Additionally, a 5-year-old child and two villagers from Nyaung Lay Pin Village, Mohnyin Township were killed and five were injured in an artillery attack by the junta artillery battalion #367, based in Nanmar on January 27.
As the junta council soldiers have been conducting frequent artillery attacks and aerial attacks against the civilians, Mohnyin Township People’s Defence Force has warned the people to be cautious.
