RAKHINE STATE- Residents said that the Arakan Army (AA) attacked and occupied the Bodhigone outpost on the Maungdaw-Angumaw road on Tuesday (November 28) at around 6 a.m.
A resident said, “The junta camp was attacked around 6:00 a.m. The sounds of gunfire were so loud. The Infantry Battalion No.(5) was firing a series of heavy weapons. The villagers from the nearby villages were fleeing the war.”
Bodhigone major camp is a combination of forces from Kinchaung, Shweyinaye, and Khayamyaing small junta camps.
After the AA troops attacked the Kaigyi Border Guard camp in the southern part of Maungdaw Township around 8 a.m. on November 28, residents of nearby 5 villages are reportedly fleeing.
A war refugee said, “There are more than 200 war refugees at King Chao School. There are also more than 200 war refugees in the 3-mile Monastery. The rest of the people are fleeing to nearby villages and Maungdaw town.”
Currently, residents of five villages on the roadsides of Maungdaw-Angumaw Road, such as Seri-Konebaung, Kaigyi, Shweyinaye, Krey Myaing and Bodhigone villages, are fleeing the war.
