KAREN STATE- According to a local military source, the Karen National Union and joint forces took over the Hpalu camp, which is about 8 miles south of Myawaddy Town, on Monday evening ( March 11).
The camp was captured within minutes after KNU 6th Brigade and joint forces started attacking at 4:00 p.m., said the informer.
He also said that when the military camp was captured, the troops crossed the Thani River and fled to the Thailand border area.
The reporters are still contacting the spokespersons of KNU and alliances for details on the fights. But the Thai army has increased security forces along the border while the clashes are going on in Myawaddy Town.
