RAKHINE STATE-Shan State Progress Party (SSPP) for the Manila Army (NDAA); The New Mon State Party (NMSP) gave donations to the Rakhine National League (ULA/AA) for Rakhine people who are facing a disaster from the storm.
In exchange for the donation, Mai La Army gave 200 million MMK, 100 million MMK from SSPP, and 50 million MMK from NMSP. General Tun Myat Naing, the AA leader, returned the letter of thanks.
The AA leader’s letter of thanks expresses his heartfelt gratitude for the alliance’s support at a time when the Rakhine people are suffering due to the cyclone. Formerly, the National Unity Government (NUG) provided 100 million MMK, 300 million MMK from Kachin Independence Organization (KIO) Kyats, 100 million MMK from the Kokant Army (MNDAA), and 50 million MMK from the TNLA were donated to the AA forces for the storm affected Rakhine area.
AA is also forming a committee for the restoration of storm disasters. The deputy chief of staff of AA, Dr. Nyo Htun Aung, is leading that committee. In addition to political leaders, the local and foreign Rakhine people are included. In addition, AA is encouraging youth groups to form in the townships and participate in storm recovery.
