MAGWAY DIVISION-According to local news sources, the military junta council has been burning the area of Yay Lal Kyun in Yesagyo Township for three days in a row, and also shot and killed two people fleeing the war.
On May 28, starting at 6 a.m., the military junta troops attacked and burned down Chinya Village, Moe Kyal Village and Moe Phyu Village. Then, another junta column opened fire on the area where about 200 internally displaced people (IDPs) were fleeing between Kuni and Yae Shar Villages, shot and killed two displaced men, and some women were also hit by bullets, local sources said.
“Women with gunshots and other female hostages were reportedly taken away,” said a Yay Lal Kyun news team official.
In addition, the military junta troops burned down Nan Oo Village, as well as about 15 motorboats and cars parked near the village and at the port.
Residents said that the military junta convoy from Yae Shar Village, carrying 15 motorbikes of the IDP and the hostages, entered into two groups into the villages of Nay Yin and Min.
Last February 26, the military junta troop, which was advancing in four columns to the area of Yay Lal Kyun, burned down at least 15 villages in two days.
In addition, thousands of local residents from about 30 villages fled, a woman was killed and a child was injured.
Yay Lal Kyun is an area where the anti-dictatorship revolution is strong, so many villages have been burned and destroyed, and many people have been abducted and brutally killed.
