SAGAING DIVISION – The junta council’s soldiers have launched an offensive on the villages in Ye-U Township, forcing civilians from at least ten villages to flee.
On Monday (October 30) morning, junta troops from Depayin Township initiated an offensive in villages in Ye-U by firing heavy artillery shells, as reported by Mr. Htoo Khant Zaw (known as “Mother’s Son”), an official of Ye-U PDF.
As a result, civilians from Ma Soe Yein, Pyaw Bwe, Aung Tha, Muu Sone, Mote Si, Chone, Kyee Kone, Zee Kone, Ywar Mate Tha, and Ngayote Tan Villages, located to the west of Ye-U Township, are fleeing.
“The junta infantry battalion – 71, which had launched an offensive and carried out arson attacks in the west of Depayin Township for eight days, extended their offensive from Depayin to the western villages of Ye-U Township. Civilians from at least ten villages are fleeing,” stated Mr. Htoo Khant Zaw.
Currently, junta soldiers are leaving Ma Soe Yein Village and heading towards Ywa Mate Tha Village.
