BAGO DIVISION – The Brigade 3 – Army9- 1035 of Karen National Union (KNU) has reported on July 21 that at least 30 terrorist junta soldiers were killed and 11 were wounded when they intercepted the junta column that carried out offensive attacks in Shwegyin Township of Nyaunglebin District, at around 1:00 p.m., on July 21.
The Revolutionary Forces reportedly intercepted the junta column with around 80 forces on their way in conducting offensive attacks in Don Za Yit and Sa Lu Chaung villages, and the fighting lasted about three hours.
“We witnessed the deaths and injuries of terrorist junta forces. There was leaked information about the deaths of junta forces. The junta reinforced with airstrike attacks, while its ground forces suffered serious set-back,” said a source of Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA).
During the battle, the junta’s fighter jet of Taungoo airbase launched aerial bombings about 20 minutes, and three combatants of KNLA and People’s Defence Forces (PDF) suffered minor injuries by those attacks, according to a source.
The casualties of the junta forces during the fight were unable to be independently confirmed.
On July 5 and 6, the fascist junta column with around 100 forces carried out offensive attacks in Nan Za and Pauk Kone villages of Kyauktaga Township, and they were attacked on their way by the allied forces of KNLA and PDF, killing around 25 murderous junta forces.
