SOUTHERN SHAN STATE – It is reported that at least 10 cars have crashed on the Kyauktan bypass road from Taunggyi to Mong Pawn city, killing 4 or more and injuring many more.
It is reported that the junta council closed the Union Road from Taunggyi to Eastern Shan State Ken Tong – Mai Saat due to the fighting, and the cars were traveling from the Kyauktan bypass of the Hopong – Mong Pawn bypass road. The roads the cars are taking are not in good condition and are steeped upwards and downwards, causing car accidents.
According to residents, the road is separated from the villages and some of the injured people died on the way due to the prolonged evacuation.
A resident responded that some of them had no rescuers and had to be called by family members.
“There are about 10 overturned vehicles per day. 3 people died, maybe 5 people every day. It can be more than that. Most are injured. If it happens, they can’t get to the hospital on time. They often die halfway, Now that road is called Hell Road,” he said.
Charitable associations are out of reach for these incidents, and the most common cause of car overturns is brake failure. It was reported that it was happening to all sorts of vehicles, big or small, including motorcycles.
He added that the last thing that happened last night on February 15 was when a big car ran into a motorcycle because of brake failure and the cyclist’s body was unable to collect.
If you come this way, don’t carry cargo; better come with a good car, have good brakes, and be a well-experienced driver, When driving on deep slopes, use low gear for people to walk down from the cars. He said that he advised them not to drive too fast and not to follow motorcycles too close to cars.
It has closed Taunggyi-Tachilek Union Road near Hopong, since February 21st due to ongoing ground fighting, in addition to heavy weapons fire and air raids, in the villages near the highway between Mong Pawn.
As for travelers’ cars, when they started traveling from Kyauktan Road on February 22nd, cars overturned due to the roughness of the road and people lost their lives.
