TANINTHARYI DIVISION – The junta council has deployed into two military columns and launched military operations toward the Nyinmaw and Sitpyea Villages at the lower part of Launglon Town again on Tuesday (November 14) morning at around 7 a.m.
The junta military column with around 50 forces launching toward Sitpyea Village is said to be marching along the forest route, according to the information from the locals.
“They (junta troops) have been marching while firing gunshots recklessly. They dragged whoever they saw along with their military column,” a local man from Launglon said on November 14 noon.
The military column marching toward Sitpyea Village was said to have also bashed and destroyed motorcycles and abducted some locals. The total number of civilians abducted from Sitpyea Village and civilians being used as human shields are still under investigation.
Locals stated that there was one person hit by the junta column’s gunshot near Sitpyea Village. This statement is yet to be verified independently.
In addition, the stated junta military column is said to be the same column that raided the coastal villages: Kyauksin, Thabawseik, Pyingyi, Kayingyi, Kangani and Panyit, in the west part of the Launglon Town starting from November 8 till November 13.
When the junta military column invaded those villages, the junta troops ransacked the houses, looted the properties and burnt down more than eight houses and many motorcycles in Kayingyi, Kangani and Panyit Villages.
Furthermore, the junta council had launched military operations with different tactics toward Launglon, Kyunsu and Bokepyin Townships in Tanintharyi Division during these days. There have also been battles engaged between the junta council and revolutionary forces and the military situation has been intense.
