CHIN STATE – According to Shwe Loikaw Social Welfare Organization, two minors of a family of four were injured when heavy artilleries fell on the site of I Kone Hmee village, Loilinlay Town in Loikaw Township at around 8 p.m., on May 28.
It was reported that 7-year-old Maung Han Tun was injured on his right wrist, and 9-year-old Maung Tun Lin was injured on his head by ammunition fragments.
Karenni Army (KA) Military Affairs Chief Colonel Phone Naing said that fighting occuredbetween the defence forces and Junta light infantry battalion 530 at about 8 p.m., on May 27, with the junta troops firing heavy artillery.
“The Battalion 530 is stationed in Htee Sae Kha, Loilinlay. There was some shooting and the use of heavy artillery hit the children. It was east of Loilinlay, northeast of Loikaw,” said Colonel Phone Naing.
Also a three-year and five-month-old girl from Ward 3 of Sikar, Moebyae was killed by heavy artillery shelling by the terrorist junta troops at 5 P.M. on May 27 from an open chest wound. Four citizen were also injured according to news released by the Moebyae People‘s Defence Force.
