SAGAING DIVISION – Junta soldiers from Ywa Tha Gyi Village in Wetlet Township launched an offensive at Thamar Yoe Village on Thursday (July 6) at around 4 a.m., killing three men and four women.
The victims are Ms. Hnin Hlaing, 50, Ms. Aye Nu Win, 40, Ms. Mway Li, 40, Mr. Phoe Lwin, 50, Mr. Thein Hlaing, 60, Ms. Phyu, 40, and Mr. Wai Moe, 30. They are from Thamar Yoe Village, except Mr. Wai Moe, who is from Shwe Pan Kone Village, and Ms. Phyu, who is from Ku Toe Kine Village.
“They reached the camp in Ywa Tha Gyi Village in Wetlet Township in three vehicles. They also fired along the way. At around 4 a.m., the junta column launched an offensive to the west, and no one noticed it. They recklessly fired while going around, and the civilians who were shopping were hit,” said the source.
That column went to Ayardaw Township and set one house in Ku Toe Kine Village on fire. Then, they continued their offensive to the west again and fired heavy artillery shells from the west of Ma Kyee Saut Village to Nhar Ya Hoe Village, said the residents.
