MON STATE – The junta council soldiers abducted a girl under 18 who lives in Bin Hlaing Residential Ward, Thahton Town, on September 22, accusing her of being connected to PDF comrades.
She was abducted by the junta forces near her house, with the accusation of sharing political news on social media, and the junta troops confiscated her mobile phone. Afterward, they took her to the township police station.
“She is just a child and only shared the news that others posted on social media. She is under 18 and needs a few more months to turn 18. They can scold her but not abduct her. She might be charged under Section and has not been released despite her family members arriving at the police station,” said a resident.
The victim is Ms. Than Than Aye, also known as Aye Chan May, and she was illegally detained at Thahton Myoma Police Station to face charges under Section 505/A.
On September 5, the junta soldiers abducted the owner couple of Lin Lat Store in Thahton Myoma Market, accusing them of being connected to PDF comrades.
