SHAN STATE – Local residents and news sources of TNLA said that the junta army blew up the bridge between Hsipaw and Namtu in Northern Shan State.
According to the statement issued by TNLA on December 29 morning, he Mo Tae creek Bridge, which is the main connection between Hsipaw and Namtu, was destroyed on December 28th at 6:00 p.m. by the Junta Council’s 503rd and 504th regiments. They destroyed by the mines. Mo Tae creek Bridge is the bridge that connects Hsipaw – Namtu – Mantong – Namsan towns. The news was released by the PSLF/TNLA Press and Information Department.
“The bridge is no longer passable. We can’t go by car, but we can go by motorcycle. Normally, troops from the Hsipaw side are using and guarding secretly. There are also troops hiding in the entrance of Hsipaw,” explained a resident of Hsipaw.
At present, the junta council is preparing for defensive military operations, especially for the fear that the TNLA troops will attack the Hsipaw township, and it is learned that some weapons are being issued to the personnel of the civilians in government department.
