AYEYARWADY DIVISION – After a bomb exploded near the Railway Division (9) office yesterday (May 12) morning, some local residents and some railway employees were arrested by the Junta’s Council in Hinthada City, Ayeyarwady Division.
Hinthada City Residents said that the bomb exploded in front of the Railway Division (9) office in Kanaungsu Ward at around 9:00 a.m. on May 12.
“A bomb exploded near the station. The junta army abducted people they suspected from the city. I heard that six railway employees were also arrested. We have not heard the details yet,” said a resident near the Hinthada station.
In addition, it was reported that junta forces arrested at least five young residents and extorted money. However, the damage caused by the bomb blast is still unknown.
“People from the city were abducted. Some of them were forced to ransom them with money. They themselves did not dare to get out of the camp anymore,” said a resident near Hinthada City No. 1 Police Station.
In addition, it is not yet known which group carried out the bombing.
Number of attacks by revolutionary forces on junta council targets in Ayeyarwady division, including Hinthada, are increasing. On May 7, the township police chief Kyaw Moe was killed in a bomb attack on the Aung San Ward administration office in Kyonpyaw.
On the night of May 6, the Bogale Township Police Station was bombed by allied forces.
In addition, on the night of May 5, a military security force sergeant Aung Htet from Hinthada was shot.
