CHIN STATE – The Administrator of Myothit Ward, Hakha Township issued an order on Monday (April 22) to close all the shops in the ward until June 20.
On April 12, while the military council officers’ convoy was passing through Myothit Ward in Hakha Town, the Chinland Defense Force (CDF) took cover
of civilian homes and shops in the quarter and attacked them. Some junta officers were reportedly injured during the attack and thus such a restriction was made, according to the statement released.
It is also alleged that the churches, houses, and shops in the area cooperated with CDF for the attack and thus the junta administrator ordered to close all the shops in the Myothit Ward and it is also announced that not more than five people should gather in churches.
Junta affiliates threatened to take action if the order is not followed from the date of the announcement until June 20, 2024, until further notice.
The April 12 attack by CDF-Hakha on the military council minister’s convoy passing Myothit Ward injured some military affiliates including some ministers.
Chin Human Rights Organization (CHRO) announced that the convoy of two State Ministers of the military council and security forces was attacked with small arms and resulted in junta casualties.
