SAGAING DIVISION – Locals reported that thousands of residents from some villages in Indaw Township had been forced to leave from their home as the terrorist junta forces invaded and carried out offensive attacks in the township.
A junta column with around 180 forces carried out offensive attacks and penetrated the north eastern part of Indaw Township through Mohnyin on the night of June 28, according to a local.
“That junta column was stationed at Pin Wei, Hpar Pant and Auk Taw villages, and the residents of nearby villages were afraid of them and evacuated from their homes to save their lives. The chairman (administrator) of Pin Wei Village was abducted on last night (June 27). And four or five people of Hpar Pant Village were also captured,” said a local.
Locals said that the people currently abducted by that brutal junta columns are the administrator of Pin Wei Village and five from Hpar Pant Village, and the murderous junta troops took them as human shields along their route.
It was said that the abductees in Indaw Township were freed only after they have been detained for at least two days to a month, when they were captured as human shields by the atrocious junta soldiers, according to a villager in the north eastern part of Indaw Township.
“As usual, they abducted locals as human shields because they don’t dare to pass our territory by themselves. The deeds of them are different by columns. Some junta column freed the abductees, when they passed one or two villages. Some civilians were captives about a month. Those who were freed said that they were forced to carry their packages, have to go ahead of them and have to sleep around them,” he said.
The villages those have been forced to flee due to junta’s offensive attacks were reported as Nar Ma Kyaing, Pin Wei, Auk Taw and Ton Kwe villages, and there were thousands of people in about one hundred houses, according to locals.
