SAGAING DIVISION – A jet fighter of the terrorist junta council bombed the monastery at Khayansatkone Village in Indaw Township and the head monk and an attendant were killed, stated Indaw Revolution – IR.
The junta jet bombed the monastery unprovoked at 8 p.m. on September 15 and the attack hit the 77 year old head monk who had been ordained for 57 years who was killed on the spot, alongside a civilian attendant. The attack is also said to have destroyed a common hall and the main hall of the monastery.
“No one expected the bombing. When the jet came and dropped the bomb, there was no time to run and the bomb landed on the monastery. It was in Khayansatkone Village and the monastery was hit,” said an official of IR.
After the terrorist junta council conducted the bombing, the junta artillery hill at Indaw also fired heavy artillery, damaging a civilian home and several motorcycles, reported the locals.
