MYANMAR – According to a report released on June 9, an Israel-registered arms manufacturer dispatched weapons to Myanmar coup council despite the fact that the United Nations (UN) and the United States (US) has imposed sanctions over Myanmar due to the genocide against the Rohingya.
The report of Justice For Myanmar stated that the shipment was carried out in 2019 and also included a letter that Israel advocate Eitay Mack had sent to attorney general Baharav-Miara.
According to the report, Israel-registered arms manufacturer, CAA industries, exported weapons to Myanmar in July, 2019.
Justice For Myanmar also expressed the pictures of the equipments that was sold by CAA industries and the pictures of the assault rifle, sniper rifle and light machine gun that was manufactured by the Myanmar army’s weapon factory in the report.
CAA industries told the medias that most of their products are for civilian use only and they work in accordance with the procedure and the authorisation of the ministry of defense of Israel.
In 2017, Israel sold the weapons to Myanmar army while hundreds of thousands of Rohingya were being forced to flee due to the violent crack-down of the Myanmar military.
The accountable person of the Human Right groups mentioned that among the military arms that Israel sold Myanmar Army, 100 tanks, weapons and warships were included.
