MYANMAR – According to the order of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Central Government of India, all border routes between India and Myanmar will be closed from May 1.
Citizens of the two countries will be allowed to cross the border until the end of April and starting May 1, all routes from the India-Myanmar border will be blocked, unless in emergencies after collecting proper data.
Due to the conflicts after the military coup, the majority of Chin residents have fled to the Indian border and according to Chin civil organizations, more than 60,000 people have crossed the border.
The Indian government has announced a plan to put up a fence and end the cross-border travelling between the two countries since the beginning of this year.
