MANDALAY DIVISION- It was reported that two cars from the Wetlu Police Station in Natogyi Township were attacked. The military group in the car reportedly fled, a gun was seized and the left-behind cars were burned down.
On April 24, at around 8:30 a.m., the military soldiers and the policemen who came out of the Wetlu police station in two cars were attacked, stated the spokesperson of Natogyi People Defense Force.
“Two cars were set on fire. They were injured and they ran away. When they saw us, they ran away leaving behind their cars, instead of returning fire. We chased them, and about half of them were wounded. We cannot confirm the death,” said the officer of Myingyan District Batallion (4).
“A revolver, a mobile phone, a walkie-talkie, and some cash were seized from the car,” said the officer.
Similarly, on April 23rd, around 9:00 a.m., the military council troops stationed at the construction office and Aye School, located in the downtown of Natogyi, were attacked, using both small and heavy weapons, according to the local revolutionary forces.
“We reached their gate. Some veterans were called back and asked to stand guard there. Some of them were hurt during the shootout,” said the official of the Myingyan District Batallion 4.
The Natogyi People’s Defense Force, Myingyan District Batallion (4), and Natogyi Local PDF jointly attacked the operation in that downtown area.
It is reported that after the attack, the military group tightened security in and outside the town.
On April 18, three soldiers were killed and at least four were injured when a military group stationed at Shaw Phyu village was attacked.
