MAGWAY DIVISION – An administration officer appointed by the junta council and a member of the junta-backed Pyu Saw Htee militia who lived in Mon Kan Village, Kokko Kwa Village Tract, Yenangyaung Township, Magway Division were shot dead on May 7 about 12:30 a.m.
Mr. Khin Maung Shwe (40), the junta-appointed administration officer of Kokko Kwa Village Tract and Mr. Khin Maung Myint, a Pyu Saw Htee militant, were eliminated while they were together at Mr. Khin Maung Shwe’s house in Mon Kan Village, said Bo. San Shar from People’s Defence Force Yenangyaung, Squadron 2 of Magway District Battalion 2.
“That administration officer and Pyu Saw Htee member cooperated with junta police and soldiers to collect electricity meter bills with force, operate gambling dens and sell petroleum on the black market. That’s the reason why the two forces jointly worked to eliminate them on May 7 about 12:30 p.m.,” said Bo. San Shar.
This operation was the cooperation of People’s Defence Force Yenangyaung and Yenangyaung Pekankaung Team.
Bo. San Shyar also said that they carried out the attack when Mr. Khin Maung Myint visited Mr. Khin Maung Shwe’s house and the two were talking. They were each shot once and reportedly died on the spot.
It has been reported that the junta police came and checked around half an hour after the attack and set up security forces around the site of the attack and all over Yenangyaung Town that morning.
Previously on April 14, People’s Defence Force Yenangyaung bombed the junta police sentries at Pinn Chaung Bridge near Thone Sae Chout Village in Yenangyaung Township, Magway Division with romote-controlled explosives.
