SAGAING DIVISION – Locals reported that the terrorist junta forces carried out offensive attacks in Khin U Township on the morning of May 8, forcing residents to run away.
The terrorist junta column that left from Mandalay on May 6, raided Nwe Yon, Kyi Tauk Pauk, Chaung Tha Le, Shwe Kyin and Inn Zauk Gyi Villages in Singu Township, and intentionally burned and destroyed Shwe Kyin and Inn Zauk Gyi Villages.
Afterwards, a total of three junta columns, one from the Irrawaddy River, one from Yae Myat and Min Ma Yon Villages and one from Kyauk Myaung and Lay Ma Thein Villages, merged and combined forces.
After those three fascist junta columns merged, they stormed Ka Bwet, Koke Tet and Thin Paung Villages in the western bank of Khin U Township on May 7 and set fire to Ka Bwet Village. It was reported that about 3,000 locals of eight villages in Singu Township and Thabeikkyin Township and on the border of Khin U Township had been forced to leave their homes due to the junta’s offensive attacks.
Similarly, the junta-backed Pyu Saw Htee thugs of Ywar Thit Kone Village in the western part of Khin U Township and the junta column with over 70 forces leaving Ye U Township on May 7 carried out offensive attacks in Aung Thar and Kone Thar Village through Mya Kan Village under cover of light and heavy weapons firing, forcing over 4,000 of residents of nine villages to flee for their lives.
Currently, there are more than 7,000 people who were forced to flee as the terrorist junta forces in separate columns had been invading into the villages in eastern and western part of Khin U Township.
Around 200 arsonist junta forces that committed arson raids in Ka Bwet, Koke Tet villages, had been recklessly launching artillery attacks at the surrounding villages, since the morning of May 8, and the residents are still running away from those attacks.
