SAGAING DIVISION – The Chaung U Revolution stated that the funeral service was held on Monday for the locals and defense force members who were decapitated and killed by junta troops on May 5, near Kyigone Village, Chuang U Township, Monwya District.
“The funeral service of the fallen Chaung U PDF from the May 5 battle” was posted on Chaung U Revolution’s Facebook page together with the documented photographs.
On May 5, around 7:30 p.m. the junta troops entered Kyigone village and headed to the south-west where they raided the Chuang U PDF sub-camp. The camp commander and two members were reportedly killed. The junta troops also beheaded two locals from a nearby monastery. The troops reportedly killed a displaced sixty-five-year-old lady and two men in their forties on the way to the police station in Amyint Village, according to the Chaung U Revolution.
The junta column detained several locals of Chaung U township as human shields and raided some villages; some of them also advanced to Myinmu Township and tortured, extorted, and killed the locals.
