TANINTHARYI DIVISION: Since the morning of May 20, Junta forces have marched in Dawei Ashaetaw to deploy military actions on foot along the footpath of the forest.
The column of about 100 junta soldiers marched along the footpath to clear the land area.
On the night of May 20, they reportedly came into Darthwe Kyauk village and abducted five local people who were taken to the Ahnyar Phyar village along with a military column.
Around 4 p.m, the junta forces were said to be firing the heavy artillery recklessly.
Afterwards, around 7:30 p.m. the sounds of firing guns between U-Yin Gyi village and Ahnyar Phyar village were heard.
It was more like small ammunition and heavy artillery. They seemed to be attacked in interception, as said by one of the local people.
It was still unknown which group made the attack and the casualties of both sides.
On the morning of May 21, the column was known to have arrived in U-Yin Gyi village and abducted some local villagers, but detailed information hasn’t been confirmed yet.
The villagers from Dar Thwe Kyauk who were abducted on May 20 were released in the evening of the same day.
