KNU released photos showing that the Karen Emergency Response Team provided food to over 4,200 IDPs in Lai Do township, Naung Lai Ping (Khle Lui Thuok) District, and Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade (3).
It mentioned the IDPs, the damaged people’s houses by the cyclone, the demolished civilian homes due to large and small weapons, the destroyed civilian homes due to burning by the military council forces, and the people injured by the war. Shelters, food, blankets, and mosquito nets were provided to meet the needs of those people. It is known that there is still a need for emergency support.
The KNU Emergency Response Team provided emergency support to 784 households in total, 4,277 people in total, from Neyu, Ma Taw Kone, Kayin Wat Lar Taw, Burma Wat Lar Taw, Kyame Taw Myaung, Pattala, Lal Waingyi, Mabe Lay, Baw Kahtar, Kaw Thar Say, Ngaphe Inn, Padekaw, Hinthawe, Kyun Gyi, Nat Than Kwin, Daung Moe, Taw Kyaung Pauk, War Pin Su, and Thaung Pu villages.
KNU released that millions of local people from KNU administrative areas, including KNU Brigade (3), are fleeing due to the military council forces and are facing many challenges. A lot of humanitarian support is needed.
