KAREN STATE – The spokesperson of Karen National Defense Organization (KNDO) Battalion 8 stated that a junta soldier was killed in a sniper attack on Ukritha Army Camp on Saturday (September 2).
At around 5:48 p.m., the KNDO Battalion 8 army went to attack the Ukritha Pagoda-hill junta camp. They sniper and also fired five 40 mm rounds toward the camp. One junta soldier was confirmed dead by sniper gunfire. The junta troops returned fire with 120 mm heavy weapons, but the KNDO Battalion 8 comrades were able to retreat unharmed.
In addition, the junta Light Infantry Battalion 61 based in Ye Township was also reportedly attacked by heavy weapons, according to revolution forces.
At around 9:00 a.m., on September 2, the Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF). ABSD Battalion 1 YGF, Dawna Column, and KNLA battalion 27 reportedly attacked junta Battalion 61 with three rounds of 81mm motor fire.
The shootout lasted for almost an hour, and there were casualties on the junta side. Two ambulances were seen entering Battalion 61 and transporting the injured to the hospital.
