MAGWAY DIVISION – The policemen and the militants on security duty at the checkpoint west of Myaing, Magway Division were attacked by a sniper around 7 a.m. on August 29, as said by People’s Defence Force – Myaing Township.
The deceased was known as surveillance leader sub-inspector Zin Min Tun from Myaing Township police station. He was reportedly shot dead by a sniper while talking to the policemen and the militants at the checkpoint.
“That surveillance leader was seen falling down after being shot. Follow up enquiries reported him dead. It’s not known where his funeral will be held, whether at the Myaing cemetery or in the town,” said Bo (captain) Letyar of Myaing PDF.
There are about seven people including the policemen from Myaing Myoma police station and the militants at the checkpoint. There are also about ten junta soldiers stationed at the monastery, at the west of the checkpoint.
On August 27, the junta forces from Pakokku based 101 Division, stationed in Kaingtawma Police Station, Myaing Township were also attacked by Myaing PDF, which caused the death of two junta troops.
