SAGAING DIVISION – An official from the Bagan Orge Force (BOF) has reported that they, in collaboration with allied groups, attacked the Hla Taw Region Police Station in Wetlet Township.
On Sunday (August 27) at around 6 p.m., Yan Gyi Aung PDF, Freedom Federal Column – 1, Bagan Orge Force, White Depayin PDF, Nyaung-U District Battalion – 5, Company – 1, and Companies 2 and Me Kone Region PDF jointly attacked the junta soldiers from a distance of 60 meters.
“Approximately 50 soldiers were present on their side and they retaliated from Pyu Saw Htee’s House, near the police station. However, our comrades successfully disengaged,” stated a BOF official.
Both sides exchanged fire for about 30 minutes; casualties were likely on the junta’s side, but this couldn’t be confirmed.
“We, as well as civilians, were unable to approach the police station, so their casualties couldn’t be verified,” he added.
On Monday morning (August 26), a junta gunship flew around Hla Taw Village for scouting purposes, and additional junta forces arrived at the station.
In Wetlet Township, junta soldiers conducted raids on villages and launched offensives in those areas. On August 26, junta troops reportedly committed acts of violence, including rape and murder, between Kyee Kan and Hla Taw Villages.
Furthermore, junta soldiers reportedly looted over 50 million kyats from Kyee Kan villagers and an additional Four Lakhs from another resident.
