SAGAING DIVISION – Residents said that the Junta Council troops entered the village of Ponnagyi in Chat Thin district, northern part of Kantbalu township, at around 6 a.m. on October 21st and arrested and beat 8 people.
The column that entered Ponnagyi village was terrorist army soldiers and Pyu Saw Hti members stationed at Chat Thin Sanpya village.
One person who was arrested and released said, “As soon as they came, we left the village and ran away. Those who could run away before they got near the village escaped. The other 7, including me, were chased down by their groups. They tied us back, took things from the village, and took us to their camp.”
The arrested people are U Sein Lin, Ko Kyaw Aye, Ko Myint Lwin, Ko Aung Khin Tint, U Myint Thaung, Ko Ngwe Soe, Ko Htay Aung, and Maung Kyaw Khant Naing, who’re between 17 and 60 years old. When we arrived at their camp, they began to scan us. We were beaten until unconscious. As for Ko Kyaw Aye, I think he died because of their beating. They took him somewhere when he lost consciousness. Today, October 22nd, around 9 o’clock in the morning, when we were released, he did not come with us. It is likely to be dead. Since he was carried away by people, he had been crushed and broken. He was not able to straighten up his head. Even our group of 7 barely had to return to the village due to their torture. I have to say that I got out of the hell room. I can never forgive them.”
It has not been able to independently confirm the latest status of 35-year-old Ko Kyaw Aye, who was beaten by the terrorist war council.
