SHAN STATE – It was reported that Kachin Independence Army (KIA) attacked and captured a military base in Kutkai Township of Shan (North) State, according to a military source.
The KIA carried out offensive attacks and occupied the junta outpost based in Nam Hpar Village of Mong Yar area in Kutkai Township, at 5:15 p.m., on November 17.
“The combatants of KIA’s Battalion (36) attacked and seized Nam Hpar based military camp of Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) – 567, and also confiscated a haul of weapons and ammunition”, he said.
However, the casualties of the terrorist junta soldier have not yet been confirmed.
On November 13, KIA combated and captured Tat Ka Naing military base in Tarmoenye area, under control of IB – 123, based in Nam Hpat Kar Village of Kutkai Township.
A military source said that more than 20 junta soldiers were killed and many weapons and ammunition were captured from the camp.
