KARENNI STATE – Mr. Zayar Tun, in charge of the Clean Yangon group, said that a new school building was built and donated in the second week of September at Kalawkone Self-Help School in the western part of Demoso Township.
Kalawkone self-help school has around 300 students taught by more than 10 teachers from primary to grade 10.
“The needs of the children are many. The school building we donated is 80×20 feet, with four classrooms. Compared to the number of students, more classrooms are still needed,” said Mr. Zayar Tun.
He said that in Karenni State, where the fighting is intense, the children’s education could be delayed, so they are helping as much as they can.
Writing materials, reading books, and school supplies are needed for school children in Karenni State, and some of the schools were built with tarpaulins, and as a result are decaying, said supporters assisting the displaced people.
The Clean Yangon group is a group that supports food by cooking and feeding daily, education, and healthcare for internally displaced people in Karenni State.
