SAGAING DIVISION – PDF District Battalion captured the junta base at Panthar Village in Tamu Township around 5 a.m. on June 15, according to Tamu District revolutionary news source.
It is said that a junta soldier was captured alive and several weapons were seized in the process while the junta council responded with shellings and aerial bombings.
After the battle, the junta’s Tamu artillery hill and 4 miles base shelled Panthar Village with 105, 108 and 120 mm artillery and junta’s Yak 130 fighter jets were also sent to bomb Panthar Village and Indaing Village with 500lb bombs. Two members of the PDF District Battalion were said to be injured and the PDF Battalion also attacked the junta’s 4 miles base with 60mm mortars.
In addition, junta-backed Pyu Saw Htee militants were reported to be attacked with mines in Nanfurlong of Tamu. It is said that four Pyu thugs were killed in the attack and the Pyu militants were rampaging in the town afterwards.
“I heard that PDF Tamu District Battalion attacked the junta council troops stationed at the school building in Panthar Village located on the Tamu-Kalau Road and seized several weapons. The junta dogs conducted aerial bombings with a junta fight this morning (June 15) at around 5 a.m. We don’t know yet if there were any casualties. I also heard that a bomb attack on Tamu Bridge No. 14 checkpoint killed four. I could hear the sirens of ambulances,” said a resident.
