SAGAING DIVISION – Zero Guerrilla Brigade Battalion 7, Myingyan District states that they intercepted and attacked the around 200 junta council troops in Sagaing Township for three consecutive days from June 13 to 15.
The junta column made up of soldiers, police and Pyu militants headed towards western Sartaung was reportedly intercepted and attacked first on June 13 around 10 a.m. at Tarzin Village, again on June 14 and then for the third time at Paukma Village on June 15.
“We managed to fire 40mm mortars at them. In the three intercepted attacks, around 30 junta forces were killed and over 30 were injured. They couldn’t even retrieve the dead bodies. They just brought back the injured and gave them treatment in the monastery compound,” said Bo. Thet Gyi, Battalion Commander of Zero Guerrilla Brigade, Myingyan District Battalion 7.
It is said that ten junta forces were killed on June 13 and around 20 were killed on June 15. The junta casualties cannot be independently confirmed. Meanwhile, six defence force members were also reported to be injured after getting hit by shrapnel from 60mm shells.
The attack was a coordinated effort between Zero Guerrilla Brigade, Myingyan District Battalion 7, Kyaukse District Battalion 1 (Nagarni Force), Sartaung Moegyo, Sagaing District Battalion 1.
