BAGO DIVISION – On August 6 at 7:30 a.m., village Chairman of junta’s Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) was shot and killed between Zeegone village and Gabarni village in Taungoo township.
A local resident said that in the morning, he was riding a motorcycle from his home in Gabarni village headed to Zeegone village when he was shot on the side of the causeway between the two villages.
“There were about eight gunshots, no one dared to look out. When the terrorist soldiers and the police arrived, he had already dead. He is the chairman of USDP Party in Zeegone Village.”
The deceased was Mr. Thein Tun, Chairman of the USDP Party of Zee Gone Village, and was shot in the neck, arm and the chest. A person close to the administration said that he died of seven bullet wounds. “Only about half an hour after the shooting, the bullet shells were found. The junta’s police and the military are investigating,” he said.
Locals have reported that the junta council army and the police are conducting some inspections in Zee Gone Village and Gabarni village regarding the shooting.
