MAGWAY DIVISION – Myaing Township People’s Defence Team leader Captain Letya said that three policemen from the junta council supplies convoy were arrested near Pakokku and Myaing Township.
On December 24, between 8:00 and 10:00 p.m. in Pakokku Township, three police men were arrested at the border of Myaing Township, east of Kamma. The three of them were arrested by the soldiers of Myaing People’s Defence Team (PDT) and PDF Kamma (Kamma Coalition), after they were ordered to stand guard by the junta council soldiers without giving them guns, Myaing PDT group leader Captain Letya said.
“At night, the junta council army commander confiscated the weapons from the police. We were confused whether they were ours or theirs, we checked and found out,” Captain Letya said.
The three policemen who were arrested were police lance corporal Wai Lwin Tun and Policeman Hein Htet Aung of Thayet Police Station and Policeman Aung Lin Tun from Min Hla Police Station.
The military council army summoned about 40 policemen, including them, from Magway to Pakokku’s 101st Division to attend training. However, they had to go with the junta council’s supply convoy of the 251st Infantry Battalion that went on a patrol to Myaing Township instead of attending the training, revealed an official of Myaing PDT.
It is reported that the three policemen are being detained in accordance with the Prisoner of War Act.
