RAKHINE STATE – On the morning of December 30, the Arakan Army (AA) reportedly combated and captured the junta’s Myaung Bway police station that around 70 terrorist junta forces were stationed and 15 miles away from Mrauk-U Town, according to the AA’s news source.
The junta reinforced with many police forces as well as junta soldiers in Myaung Bway police station, and AA carried out offensive attacks on it on the early morning of December 28. AA completely seized the station, on the morning of December 30, and unfurled AA’s flag.
“There were people who saw AA’s flag raised at the Myaung Bway police station. It means that AA seized the police station. There were terrorist junta soldiers who surrendered to AA, but the details were unknown,” he said.AA’s news source sent the photos of the AA’s flag being hoisted at the Myaung Bway police station.A Muslim resident of Myaung Bway said, “It is true that the AA has taken over the Myaung Bway police station. We can say that it was completely taken over today at 7:00 a.m., on December 30.”
Since the AA attacked the Myaung Bway police station, the junta’s battalions of Mrauk-U and Minbya launched artillery attacks and also the junta’s air forces of Sittwe carried out aerial bombardments.
However, AA has occupied the junta’s Myaung Bway police station amidst junta’s artillery and airstrike attacks, and there were casualties among the civilians by those to junta’s attacks.
Five Muslim civilians were killed, while 12 others including children of Kaing Taw, Bu Ta Lone and Paung Toke villages, next to Myaung Bway Village, were seriously injured by junta’s artillery and airstrike attacks.
