KACHIN STATE – It is reported that a CDM headmaster was arrested by the military council in Nam Kham village in Machanbaw township of Putao District on September 27th at 10:00 p.m. An eyewitness said that the CDM school headmaster was arrested by a large force of soldiers.
“The master came back to Nam Kham’s house yesterday. At around 10 o’clock at night, some people in civilian clothes came, with a large amount of strength. They surrounded the master’s house and took him away. The master’s hands were also tied behind his back and took him away.” A villager said that the CDM headmaster who was arrested in Nam Kham village in Machanbaw township was arrested because of the villager’s informers.
“Machanbaw Township has a lot of people on the green side (USDP supporter). Namkham village is worse. The master who was arrested was the one who taught the students of the village. The arrest of revolutionary people in Putao is due to the local supporters of the junta council.”
A person close to the school headmaster said that he was arrested when he returned home due to ill health. “Yes, Master is sick. He had returned to his home before. So he returned once again. And the master did nothing. He just quit his job and was living peacefully with his family and relatives. I want him to be released as soon as possible.”
It is reported that the junta council forces arrested the CDM headmaster and illegally confiscated all the phones of the family members. CDM school principal U He San, who was arrested in Nam Kham village of Machanbaw township, is said to be an employee of Mulashidi School. The arrest of the CDM headmaster of Mulashidi High School in Putao township is the first CDM education employee to be arrested in Putao.
