SOUTHERN SHAN STATE – The Karenni Human Rights Group (KnHRG) announced that three IDPs were killed and five were injured due to an airstrike by the Junta Council in Phekon township.
At about 10:00 p.m. on April 11, the junta council carried out an air attack by dropping the 500-pound bomb in Phekon township, and public houses were also damaged.
According to the recent death toll obtained by KnHRG, a (65)-year-old woman, a12-year-old girl (a refugee) and a 3-year-old boy are dead.
A 37-year-old man, a 34-year-old woman, a 13-year-old girl, a 7-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl were injured.
“The skull was falling off for the child who died in an air attack. I am speechless. Don’t target civilians,” said a Karenni refugee aid worker.
At the beginning of this month, seven people were injured in an airstrike by the military council in Phekon and Hpasawng townships.
According to the statistics of the Progressive Karenni People’s Force (PKPF) as of the end of March, 481 civilians have been killed in Karenni state since the military coup, and 151 died during the fleeing of war.
