SAGAING DIVISION – Local defence forces, on July 6 at past 6 p.m., attacked the junta arsonists that set fire to Ma U Village in Myinmu Township, heavily wounding a junta soldier, said Bo. Aye Chan from People’s Knight Defence Force Myinmu (PKDF MMU).
It is said that the defence forces fired four rounds of 80mm mortars at the junta council troops from Division 33, numbering around 60, when they were setting camp at Magyeekan Village after invading Ma U Village at past 1 p.m. and torching the houses.
“(Junta) Division 33 delivered the troops to Ma U Village in cars. Those soldiers set fire to the village and set up camp at Magyeekan Village. The comrades launched the attack there. Three mortar shells reportedly landed near the junta camp. The junta soldier that was wounded is in critical condition, according to our informants,” said Bo. Aye Chan.
He continued that the junta troops spent the night at Magyeekan Village and advanced into Gonyinsein Village on the next day (July 7) and set fire to the village from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The situation at the torched Ma U Village is also not yet known.
The attack on junta troops is said to be carried out by the alliance forces of PKDF MMU, DKPDF MMU and D.B.B.F MMU.
Previously on May 27 and 28, four alliance forces including PKDF MMU launched six mine attacks on the nine junta vehicles heading towards Sagaing from Monywa between Alakapa and Wanpyae Village, destroying four junta vehicles.
