KACHIN STATE – Over 120 civilians from five villages who are fleeing the battles between KIA (Kachin Independence Army) coalition forces and the junta forces along the Myitkyina-Bhamo Road are in need of help.
According to the source, they mainly require assistance with provisions and medical treatment.
They are from Nar Lone, Lwal Mout Yan, Ton Hong Yan, Dane Gar Yan, and Ouu Htan Yan Villages in Moemauk Township and are currently seeking refuge in Bhamo and Moemauk Towns.
They previously fled during the 2011 battles but returned home in 2019 for harvesting and have been trying to settle in their respective homes.
Since July 3, clashes have been occurring in the areas along the Myitkyina–Bhamo Road, which is near Laiza, the KIO (Kachin Independence Organisation) headquarters.
