MYANMAR – Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun, Permanent Representative to the United Nations of the Union of Myanmar said at the UN meeting held on September 28 that the Myanmar issue is not an internal matter and that the complex and difficult situation is affecting the countries in the region.
The Myanmar delegation led by Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun presented at the General Discussion on Social Development of the Third Committee of the Seventy-Eighth session of the UN General Assembly that held on September 28, and said it.
The ambassador also added that “neighboring countries, including the host countries hosting Rohingya minorities, have been affected by the illegal military coup.”
He agreed on the calling of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights for radical action to end an unspeakable tragedy unfolding in Myanmar.
He reported that more than 1.9 million of Myanmar people have been internally displaced and over 18 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance. Moreover, almost half of the Myanmar population are living under the national poverty line and are living with fear.
The terrorist junta army continually commits aerial attacks and bombings over schools, hospitals and residential areas. The ambassador pointed out at the UN meeting that the vaccine distribution to save lives is being used as a weapon by the atrocious junta.
