KAREN STATE – Cobra Column issued a statement on the night of May 15 that the battles continued breaking out in Myawaddy Township, Karen state on May 14 and 15 and there were casualties on the junta council’s side.
The battles have been breaking out between the alliance forces led by Karen National Union (KNU) and the fascist junta council troops in Lat Khat Taung region and in Kyauk Mine region, Myawaddy Township since May 11 and there were casualties on both sides.
On May 14, the confrontation broke out as the junta council troops tried to invade the area where the alliance forces were stationed. The Cobra column stated that two junta council troops were killed and 10 junta council troops were injured during the battle.
There were no casualties on the alliance forces even though the junta council troops fired many rounds of heavy weapons.
On May 15, the junta council troops also tried to invade Kyauk Mine region where the alliance forces occupied and the two sides engaged in a clash. As a result, one junta council troop was reportedly killed and two junta council troops were injured. The alliance forces stated that there were also no casualties during that battle.
The battles broke out between the alliance forces and the junta council troops in the stated regions during May 11 and 13 and resulted in eight troops were killed and 27 troops were injured on the junta council’s side and one comrade sacrificed his life for the country and 10 comrades were injured from the alliance forces.
Karen National Union / Karen National Liberation Army (KNU/KNLA), Cobra Column 1, Black Panther column, Federal Wings, Golden Eagle jointly fought against the junta council in the stated regions.
