YANGON DIVISION – The military council troops asked to stop YBS (Yangon Bus Service) buses and checked them, according to one of the travellers who experienced it.
He said that military council troops, the police, and the traffic control police have also targeted YBS cars and asked them to stop and check them frequently.
A passenger who experienced it himself said, “Yesterday evening, they asked one YBS car to stop near the intersection of East Race Course Road. There were about 15 of them. They asked the driver to open the back door, and two junta soldiers got into the car and looked around. I don’t know if they were looking for people or not.”
A driver said that similar inspections are often seen these days, and they asked the suspect to get out of the car and it separately for inspection.
“Usually cars and taxis are checked, now passenger cars are also checked,” he said.
Residents of Yangon said that the military council forces often target young people in some areas of Yangon and carry out random checks and extort money.
Therefore, the urban revolution forces have warned people to clear the information on their phones and avoid the places that junta forces are inspecting when going outside.
