SHAN STATE- Last Tuesday (July 11), KIA ambushed a military convoy near Hunaung and Pharkit villages in Kutkai Township, Northern Shan State. Similarly, a junta vehicle was ambushed near Nwanlang village on the Myitkyina- Bamaw Road, and some casualties were reported.
A military council car was attacked at around 2:00 p.m. near Hunaung Village in Kutkai Township. The car had broken down, and the injured soldiers were reportedly taken away in ambulances, as stated by locals.
On the same day, a junta council car coming from Momauk Town was also attacked by KIA’s mobile battalion-25 near Nwanlang village. The car had turned over, and there may be high casualties, reported a local news source. Twenty soldiers were reportedly loaded into that vehicle.
Since the beginning of this month (July), there have been offensive military activities in places close to Laiza, KIA’s Headquarters. There have been continuous days of fighting with heavy weapons and aerial bombardment by junta troops.
