TANINTHARYI DIVISION – A vehicle carrying junta soldiers was blasted with mines in Launglon and there were junta casualties, said Launglon People’s Defence Organization (PDO) and residents.
Launglon PDO is said to have blasted a Vivo truck carrying junta forces on Saungkyoe Road at around 5 p.m. on Sunday (November 26).
“The car was brought to a stop and those in the back were thrown off the car. They couldn’t even fire back,” said a member of Launglon PDO.
He continued that junta reinforcements from Launglon Police Station arrived at the site of the attack firing small and heavy weapons.
Launglon PDO announced that six junta troops were killed and four were seriously injured in the attack.
Local residents informed that the attacked junta troops have been extorting the passersby in front of Launglon High School and Hospital.
They reportedly extorted passing vehicles for hundreds of thousands in Kyat while pedestrians have to negotiate with them just to pass them.
“Just recently a car was stopped and they ordered those on board to pay 30,000 Kyat each,” said a Launglon resident.
After the junta vehicle was blasted, junta forces have stopped their inspections and extortions on November 26 night as well as the next morning and haven’t left their stations at the administration office and the police station, according to local reports.
