KACHIN STATE-It is reported that Kachin Independence Army (KIA) lost its frontline camp near Sadom Waterfall in Winemaw Township on 4th June.
A source close to KIA officials said that the junta military council and Lisu Pyithusitt (Militia group)jointly attacked the Lagatkaung camp.
“We didn’t withdraw from the frontline camp. It’s true that we have been trying to control the area so that the army could not advance. The junta troops didn’t occupy the camp either. The camp has been deserted way before the battle broke out. The long-ranged) shootings were from other places,” said the informer.
Three KIA soldiers were reportedly injured in the battle, and military council troops were also injured.
“Three KIA soldiers were slightly injured. As for the junta army, one of our officers reportedly shot and killed almost ten of them although we couldn’t verify the exact causalities,” said a source close to KIA.
The fight near Sadom Falls has been going on for about 10 days, and the junta council reportedly launched four aerial attacks with two jets on the first of July, at around 4:00 p.m.
Clashes have been going on more frequently near Sadom Waterfall since the Chinese People’s Liberation Army representatives were shot in Winemaw Township in the last week of June.
