MON STATE – Residents of the area say that the heads of the 100 households and Pyu Saw Htee have threatened to charge 5,000 kyats per house, in Set Sé village of Thanbyuzayat Township under the terrorist army’s military conscription law.
The local people said that, starting on March 22nd, Governor Soe Aung, Kyaw Than, the head of the 100 households, Soe Naing, the leader of Pyu Saw Htee, and township firefighter Soe Than were collecting the money, in Set Sé village.
“In the village, the headman and Pyu Saw Htee are quite bad. If we go to complain, our lives are threatened. The whole village is being picked on,” a resident said.
At present, the headman, Kyaw Than always carries a sidearm and oppresses the villagers. Set Sé village is a village where the Mon people live, and the people are unjustly oppressed. The local people also said that they want Mon resistance organizations to take action for oppressing and collecting money.
