KACHIN STATE – The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) captured the Nan Kaw Gold Mining Field camp of junta infantry battalion (IB) – 297 in Tanai Township, in KIA Brigade 2 territory, on Monday (March 18) at 6 p.m.
“We only received information about capturing the camp. The junta casualties and the number of confiscated weapons are still being investigated. It’s the first time that a junta camp has been captured in Tanai,” said a KIA source.
Revolutionary Alliances, under the leadership of the KIA, have been launching an offensive on junta camps since March 7 and have already captured over 30 junta camps and arrested over 300 junta troops, according to a KIA source.
