BAGO DIVISION – It has been reported that one man was reportedly killed and one man was reportedly severely injured from a team that had come to repair the broken pylons near Pauk Myaung bridge, Naung Kone village, Kyauk Gyi village, Bago division due to the bombing by drones.
A local mentioned that an armed force bombed township electric power pole maintenance team by using drone that was protected by the junta council troops at around 11 a.m. on May 8.
“A maintenance team which had come to repair the broken electric power pole that was blasted a few days ago, was bombed by using drones. It has been three times that the maintenance team was bombed, including this time. In the previous times, there was no casualties. There were many people in the team which had come to repair this morning and there were also the junta council troops who provided security for them. The bombs were dropped by two drones,” the local added.
A city development committee day-labour 40-year-old Min Thein who lived in Aung Thukha ward, Kyauk Gyi town was reportedly killed and an EPC day-labour who lives in the ward 3 of Nat Than Gwin village was reportedly injured.
The injured and dead persons were sent to Kyauk Gyi hospital and the work of repairing the electric power pole was suspended.
There has not been any statement released yet about which armed group carried out the attack.
On the night of May 4, an armed group detonated two electric power poles near Pauk Myaung bridge, Naung Kone village and resulted in the electric power poles were damaged.
That power line is a 33kv transmission line and it connects electric power between Pae Nwe Kone and Kyauk Gyi. It has been 5 days that electric power was cut off in Kyauk Gyi.
